With rain falling all evening, the Lions focused on dominating the line of scrimmage as the key to the game. Both offensive and defensive lines stepped up and paved the way for the Lions victory. The Lions jumped out to a quick 21-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lions were able to continue to run the ball and play great defense throughout the game. Six different Lions scored and at the end of the game, the Lions had their first victory of the season with a score of 47-21. Because of their great play, both lines were chosen as the players of the game.

Coach Campbell had this to say about the game “We got a great win on Friday. I thought offense, defense, and special teams were outstanding. On offense we ran for over 300+ yards. Defense played tough all game and we had 4 interceptions and 5 sacks. Special teams played great and we had 2 kick off returns ran back for touchdowns. This week we nominated the starting OL and DL as players of the week. Buc Fraizer and Jed Loveless also had standout games. Buc Frazier had 3 interceptions and return one back for a touchdown. Buc Frazier also ran a kick off return for a TD. Jed Loveless had the other interception and returned a kick off for a TD as well. Tyler Batty led the team with 3 sacks.”

In the end, it was a great win for the Lions.  With the momentum from their first win, the Lions will host their rivals Salem Hills this upcoming Friday.
